Mock Up Page

Working on placing the illustrations now. I feel like sticking to this very grungy style i'm working on; trying for a more Ashley Wood/Christopher Shy art style. Obviously I need to do more panel work in my pages.

Final Movie Poster

In the end, there were some minor changes from what I planned in the sketch such as the extra building in the background instead of eyes and the film title was placed on top instead of the bottom. The film is called "The C Project"

Movie Poster Sketch

I chose Synopsis C as the theme for the film. Synopsis C is about a student who has supernatural abilities and uses it to the character's advantage to gain popularity in school. This synopsis reminds me a lot of the film "Chronicle", directed by Josh Trank. The film is about 3 high school boys who found an unknown object that gives them telekinetic powers. With their newborn powers, the 3 boys used it for fun and mischief but it all gets worse when one of them starts abusing their own power.

In one of the final theatrical poster, it shows the main character is trying to stop a very explosive force in front of him. The scene in this poster reflects the very final conflict in the film where two of the 3 friends fought against each other using their powers in downtown Seattle.

For my movie poster, I've decided to chose for a chaotic themed scene just like "Chronicle". It'll be the main character standing in on top of rubble and debris in the rain, a destroyed campus building at the back and me with glowing aura emitting from both hands.  The color will be quite desaturated and it will have a very dark and chaotic light setting.

Trying different illustration styles

I like this style because of the gungy, textury and sketchiness of it. It is style that I am more comfortable with right now.

Practicing Light and Dark

I was practicing my drawing skills and tried to achieve something close to Ashley Wood's style.

Influential Illustrators

For this fairy tale assignment, I have chosen to have the final outcome be a graphic novel. If I had to choose one influential artist, it would be Ashley Wood. He has worked on many graphic novels and one of my favourite novels are Metal Gear Solid and Spawn. He uses mixed media by combining oil painting and digital painting.

My synopsis of Pinocchio

There lived two engineers, Geppetto and Fabrizio in the late 18th century. The pair lived a normal life fixing machines and other clockwork mechs. Soon, they made a name for themselves as they're called out by the royal head of security and employed to work as lead engineers in their military faction. When they've realized that they're being used for something much worse, Fabrizio and his father were ordered to be executed but managed to escape their ordeal, only leaving Fabrizio heavily injured in the course. Geppetto saved his son by installing mechanical limbs that gives him super human strength. General Stromboli then resumes with his tyranny by using their improved security and firepower to overthrow the current royal empire. Having used and deceived, Geppetto and Fabrizio vows to kill the general and set things right all over again. Thus, Fabrizio becomes the masked assassin feared by the people, "Pinocchio"

Digital Art Stuff

When I have some spare time between assignments, I'll usually practice using the brushes on Photoshop drawing random stuff at most times. Sometimes I take more than 2 hours to have a complete illustrations and some took me 1 hour minimum. Blogger really messes up the pictures when I upload at home -.-
