HTML and Photoshop

For yesterday's lecture, Mr. Jeffrey gave us something new. Which is creating HTML files with links inside.

Add photo
Take any photo.

Create Selection with the Slice tool under Crop
I made 5 selections, Both eyes, my nose, mouth and goatee.

File > Save for Web and Devices
Settings for the image must be JPEG High, Format it to HTML and images, save it as index.html

Edit Slice Properties
For each slice that I've made, I add a website URL and the target

Save it again for Web and Devices
Once completed, we save it again as index.html and replace the previous files.

I opened the files in the USB disk that I saved in. When the file is opened, the browser starts up with the image in the browser. Finally, I clicked on my left eye and the browser opens a new page with my blog.

Landscape Cross-hatch

Another exercise for Mr. Hafiz. We had to cross-hatch a landscape using the tablet. The objective of this exercise is to observe the depth-of-field when it comes to landscapes.

Portrait Cross-hatch

More practicing and trying to explore different hatching methods. This time I used a portrait of my college lecturer.

Revisiting the first Cross-Hatching Exercise

So I decided to revisit the first hatching exercise after Mr. Hafiz gave some advice about using full opacity brushes for cross-hatching.

The Drawing Tablet

12/9/2012

Week 2 of Illustration and Visual Narrative -- Working the Tablet

I've had experience with Wacom drawing tablets before. Mr. Hafiz thoroughly explained the basics of the Wacom Intuos 4 with Photoshop such as customizing our own brushes. I drew this for almost 1 hour and obviously I do need to improve my anatomy.

Understanding and Illustrating Lines

A little exercise by Mr. Hafiz. It was quite challenging to illustrate 2 sensations and 2 emotions using lines.

Designing a Business Card and InDesign

11/9/2012
We had a practical lesson on designing a simple business card. Some of the tools we learned in this lecture was the rotate tool. It was used on the red circle logo. Amon Amarth is a Swedish metal band, so I thought I find it fitting to have the font and the colour scheme match the client.

Apart from that, we have also been introduced to Adobe InDesign. A program used for printing and publishing. I find it difficult to cope with all the new layout system and tools but I'm quite sure everyone is feeling the same way as me. So Mr. Jeffrey taught us on how to insert texts and how to manipulate objects and images in InDesign.
